Monitor and Analyze Working Hours and Staff Costs
Minimum wage laws are now in force in more than 90% of all countries. As the wages rate rises, it becomes more expensive for businesses to hire staff and so firms hire fewer staff.
Wages are measured in units of time with hourly and daily rates being the most widely used. Salaries are less specific about the number of hours worked and based on a periodic form of payment from an employer to an employee, usually specified in an employment contract. There is a strong relationship between wages, salary and job descriptions or job title. Once these are established, wages are often a focus when negotiating the employment contract between employer and employee.
Schedule24 Professional recognize these universal relationships between job title, staff work hours and staff costs based on variable rates to enable analysis of these relationships and creation of management team reports throughout the staff scheduling process.
Finally, in many countries employers are obliged to keep records of the number of hours actually worked and to make those records available to the responsible authorities if required. In practice such records are useful for meeting other obligations including occupational health reviews.
